Machete possession in MA?

Some customers don’t like our loud 2 stroke engines, sometimes don’t feel like grabbing power equipment for 1 or 2 cuts.

Was told by another worker that a machete was illegal and I definitely should not have it just sitting in the cab of my truck,

The cab is home to most my tools and has the least moisture, it’s stored tightly, not just hanging around.

I bought it in the tool section, so is it a tool or an illegal weapon?
